May I say, Ladies and Gentlemen on the DTLS Programme.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to give this speech on this momentous day of our independence. I am also deeply appreciative of your presence as the partners, participants and stakeholders for my speech on Independence Day. It fills me with immense pride to be able to deliver this speech on such a significant occasion.

The significance of delivering a speech on Independence Day cannot be understated, as it provides a remarkable platform for individuals to express their thoughts about their cherished nation. It grants us the privilege to showcase our love for our country, exhibit our patriotism and nationalism, and pay homage to the brave freedom fighters. On this day of national celebration, we all experience an overwhelming sense of pride as citizens of our beloved country.

Our nation stands as an autonomous country, upholding the rights of its citizens and fostering a peaceful environment. Today commemorates the milestone of our liberation from foreign nations, serving as a vivid reminder of the enormous trials endured by our compatriots to safeguard our freedom and security as inhabitants of a sovereign land. This occasion instils within us a sense of pride in being honourable and patriotic members of our nation. On this national celebration of Independence Day, we pay tribute to our valiant freedom fighters.

This day serves as a valuable lesson for every citizen, emphasizing the significance of unity, patriotism, and profound love for our nation. We deeply honour and remember the countless endeavors and selfless sacrifices made by our ancestors to safeguard the security of our homeland. On this occasion, we pay homage, extend our utmost respect, and express our boundless affection for the sacrifices they have made for our sake. Our freedom fighters exhibited immense courage and made diverse sacrifices, paving the way for the free and peaceful nation we enjoy today.

This special day serves as a powerful reminder to foster unity amongst ourselves, transcending religious, caste, and community barriers. Our strides in economic, social, and political spheres are globally acknowledged as we commemorate our independence. Designated as a national holiday, this day witnesses the closure of both government and private establishments, as we collectively rejoice in our freedom.

Preserving the grandeur of our nation lies in our hands. This day etches eternal significance in the chronicles of every citizen. Every nook and corner of our country reverberates with profound love, reverence, and enthusiasm on this joyous occasion. Educational institutions orchestrate diverse cultural events, adding vibrancy to the celebrations and fostering remembrance. It is this very celebration that has bestowed upon me the privilege to express my thoughts and sentiments today.

Our nation is deeply rooted in our very existence, and we proudly bear the identity of its children. We remain unwaveringly prepared to shield our homeland from any malicious forces that seek to harm it. As responsible and dedicated citizens, it is our duty to solemnly pledge our allegiance to our cherished motherland. Every individual in our great nation carries the responsibility of guiding it towards progress and actively contributing to its ascent as a leading nation globally.

As responsible individuals, it is incumbent upon us to ensure our young generation comprehends the profound affection bestowed upon us by our beloved country.

On this joyous occasion of our independence, I am compelled to express my utmost gratitude for the unwavering support you have extended to us throughout the implementation journey of the DTLS programme at different district levels. To all the district offices and schools involved, I extend my sincerest thanks for placing your trust in this programme.

At present, we take great pride in collaborating with more than 400 educators from various districts who have dedicated themselves to enhancing their qualifications in the field of technology. With no further registrations being accepted, we commit to graduating these educators in 2025, forming a formidable team of qualified personnel in the realm of Technology Studies – at both Bachelors and Masters Level.

I would like to stress that the implementation of knowledge centres and self-learning spaces, as part of our programme, across all districts in the pilot phase, will revolutionize the learning experience for citizens nationwide. It is important to mention that we are diligently working to ensure everything is seamlessly coordinated, aiming to create a better educational system for our beloved country, Zambia.

On this day, we want to pledge our dedication to making Zambia a better place. We will only achieve this when you support us wholeheartedly. I need to mention before I close that, Centre for eLearning and Information Technology Research is committing a solid $3Million for its pilot in Zambia and a bit of scaling up in other Neighbouring countries.

On this momentous day, we solemnly commit ourselves to the relentless pursuit of enhancing Zambia’s prosperity. Our vision can only be realized through your unwavering support.

Before concluding, it is imperative to state that the Centre for eLearning and Information Technology Research is fully devoted to investing a substantial amount of $30 Million towards implementing a pilot project in Zambia, with plans for further expansion in neighbouring countries.

Thank you sincerely for sparing your valuable time.
